Exploring the future, what does 2050 have in store for air forces? How might people, systems, and organizations morph to realize a 2050 vision of collaborative futures in the digital era?

In this immersive metaverse workshop, participants will utilize digital tools to practically visualize future hybrid work environments. Viewing through an imagined ‘Virtual Forces’ case study, they will delve into how organizations might need to adapt to function differently in a digitally-enabled, collaborative future. Modeling a hybrid, collaborative workflow, participants will explore innovative working methods stemming from digital convergence.
The goal is to spark imagination about 2050 in their own contexts and consider the necessary upskilling and mindset shifts. Drawing upon collaborative research on digital transformation and workforce development by Griffith University, Deakin University, and Phare Consulting, this workshop also acknowledges its roots in completed research on agile manufacturing and workforce development, sponsored by the Royal Australian Air Force through a Defence Science Partnership Agreement.
